What Network Marketing Lesson Can Be Learned From a Little Boy and a Puppy?

If you have a network marketing business and people just aren’t joining after you talk to them this information may reveal why.

There is a story about a farmer who had some puppies for sale and a boy that wanted a puppy. The farmer proceeds to assume what the boy wants in a puppy but soon finds out he was all wrong.

Washington convention center

Listen below to Michael Oliver tell this story. It’s a great story and valuable lesson. Find out how you can apply it to your network marketing business:

michaeloliver_6465.jpg

If you want to be successful at network marketing you will need to talk with people. If you are following the “attraction marketing” model you will have people coming to you that are pre-sold to a point but you will still need to know how to communicate with them effectively.

If you are a conventional thinker like the majority of us this is the point that you will unintentionally drive people away. You probably have a great product and assume that the prospect will want to hear about it and think it is great too. You will most likely tell them all about it and how great it is. If they give you feedback you will probably interpret what they are saying from your own point of view and life experiences. You will then judge them based on what they are saying.

I admit this is what I was doing. I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get people interested in such a great product. Then it was revealed to me what I was doing wrong. Wow, I was completely focusing on the wrong things.

I learned a lot from Michael Oliver. He is a great mentor and is very successful. He attributes it directly to how he communicates with his clients. You can get a very valuable free e-course from him here:

Review: ?Dark Path Chronicles’ Off To Rocky Start

a few weeks ago we got you up to speed on the dark path chronicles, the newest web series from fearnet and sam raimi’s ghost house pictures, who last collaborated on the 30 days of Stygian series, blood trails and dust to dust. the first two episodes premiered on fearnet yesterday ? why fearnet waited until nearly a week after halloween to release a horror series is beyond me. the site also features a making-of video, a behind the characters featurette and writer/director mary lambert’s (pet semetary) blog. the first episode finds teenage samantha (newcomer amanda bauer) reading about rapturous antagonistic ii, while waiting for her older sister lisa (urban legends: bloody mary’s lisa k. lambert) to make it from the train appoint. singing while she studies, samantha’s make known inadvertently awakens former nazi soldier-turned vampire jurgen (carson aune). we also acquisition glimpses of the beautiful enid (played by cloverfield’s elena caruso) and bald vampire luke (frequent video game actor joseph gatt). the dark scenario chronicles has some cool looking vampires and very creepy imagery ? i love the shot of jurgen stagnant against a tree.

Report: Oprah Winfrey to Leave ABC

According to the Huffington Post, talk show host Oprah Winfrey will leave ABC in 2011. Instead, she will air the Oprah Winfrey Show, “Oprah,” on her own cable channel the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced the impending switch Friday morning.

Oprah’s syndication deal with ABC runs out in 2011. The media tycoon and talk show host had previously said she would quit the show altogether. Now it seems that she will not quit the show but simply move it to her own cable channel which means that the 25th season of “Oprah” will not be the last.

The Oprah Winfrey Network or OWN will replace Discovery Health, bringing it into 70 million homes in the United States, and many millions outside it as well.

Shortly after the Huffington Post broke the news, Harpo - the production company founded and owned by Oprah - said Oprah was still contemplating whether she would retire in 2011 or not. It seems likely, however, that the woman who dominated TV talk show for 22 years already, will continue doing so for many years to come.

Kenneth From 30 Rock Hotter In Real Life, But Just As Southern [Celebrity Science]

story.jpg

one can’t domestics but wonder if jack mcbrayer’s character on 30 astound, kenneth the page, didn’t provide some miniature amount of inspiration in search that malcolm gladwell new yorker article this week on the advantages of being an underprivileged outsider. the hardworking “country boys” once favored by new york merchants went on to run goldman sachs and so forth, and 30 rock’s unreal ge executive, jack donaghy, was similarly sanguine about kenneth: “in five years, we’ll all either be working for him ? or be spent by his custody.” it helps that, as salon’s sarah hepola says in her q&a with mcbrayer, he’s hot!

I met Jack a few years ago (a friend of a friend, lucky me) and what struck me about him in person, aside from his Southern politesse and honest-to-goodness kindness — were his good looks. I would not tell him this to his face (though if I did, he would blush ferociously), but for someone who plays “that nerd on ‘30 Rock,’” he is a handsome guy. He has radiant skin, beautiful eyes. He’s in pretty good shape. When someone spotted him in New York City last January, they wrote in to Gawker Stalker, “Saw Jack McBrayer sitting outside at the Bone Lick Park barbecue joint at Greenwich and 7th Avenues, looking way hotter than he does on ‘30 Rock.’”

Calloway

Hepola makes a strong case that McBrayer is the midst of an unlikely ascent as 30 Rock’s breakout star: “a truly decent human being… in a cast of narcissists, neurotics and megalomaniacs.” This despite refusing to lose his southern accent, a rarity in TV comedy (especially given that McBrayer doesn’t like being lumped in with Jeff Foxworthy and his Blue Collar comedy tour). Not that he should lose it!

Apparently McBrayer was hired by Tina Fey’s husband, who is “just as weird and quirky as you would think Tina’s husband would be.”

If the below Funny Or Die video is anything to go by, all of Hollywood will soon be working for McBrayer, like Kenneth the page and Malcolm Gladwell’s “country boys” before him. (Or not. But he’s not going to disgrace the Peacock anytime soon.)

Yes on 4, for parental rights

californians face many decisions to vote on. proposition 4 would require a physician’s office or clinic to provide parents or guardians with a 48-hour notice before a minor has an abortion, giving parents a chance to counsel their daughter any way they choose. no notification would be imperative in the case of a medical emergency. if a child feared injure by the parent, the physician would be allowed to give notice of other kinsfolk members. the child could also seek a waiver from the court.
